The Sadin Institute on Law & Public Policy

The Sadin Institute on Law & Public Policy of the Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging & Longevity of Hunter College/CUNY is a multidisciplinary legal support center for professionals and advocates who work with elderly clients. Founded in 1977 by Sam Sadin, JD as the "Institute on Laws and Rights of Older Adults", the Sadin Institute offers its services to public agencies, private not-for-profits, the aging network funded by the Older Americans Act, and private attorneys, social workers and other practitioners.

Through its Advocacy Training Center, the Sadin Institute continues to train professionals in cutting-edge topics including health, income and social service entitlements (Medicare and Medicaid), financial exploitation of the elderly, daily money management for aging clients and guardianship for adults.

The Sadin Institute's budget is generated from charitable foundations, endowments, New York State training contracts, an annual dinner and income from publications, conferences, and its Advocacy Training Center. Through its Sadin Institute on Law & Public Policy, Brookdale Center maintains a major advocacy presence in the field of aging.
