Local District Training & Support

The Local District Staff Training & Support Project is a training resource that operates under the auspices of The New York State Office of Children and Family Services. This project offers professional development training events for all levels of the local district workforce such as:

  • Social Services Workforce Development Training. Offers a variety of classroom and online trainings on supervision and workforce development skills topics for local district social services staff.
  • The Supervisory Training Certificate Program. Consists of content modules that focus on providing training in supervisory competencies for inexperienced and experienced local social services district supervisors.
  • The Coaching Clinic. Provides training intensive for experienced supervisors to learn how to apply performance coaching skills and competencies.
    • Introduction to Coaching (MP3 podcast; approx. 13 mins)
      The Coaching Clinic is a three-day course intended for supervisors who want to develop their coaching skills. This podcast defines coaching and addresses crucial elements essentialo to the coaching process.
