Geriatric Emergency Preparedness Core Days
This Geriatric Mental Health & Emergency Preparedness program responds to the increased need of healthcare providers and others who provide services for older adults for enhanced knowledge and skills in emergency and disaster preparedness.

About The Consortium of New York Geriatric Education Centers
Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging & Longevity of Hunter College/CUNY has been a long-standing partner with the New York Geriatric Education Centers (CNYGEC). To meet the health needs of a growing nation-wide geriatric population, the CNYGEC is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration.
The CNYGEC seeks to improve and expand geriatric healthcare particularly for low-income, multi-ethnic, and underserved older adults throughout New York State. CNYGEC provides interdisciplinary, cutting-edge training courses on issues, health conditions and service delivery models to a broad range of healthcare professionals and academic leaders.
The CNYGEC joins the national network of GECs, and represents a partnership between Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Adult Development, Columbia University , Stroud Center , New York University, College of Nursing and Hunter University , Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging & Longevity. This consortium draws on the outstanding resources of five major teaching institutions, over 75 faculty, hundreds of clinical affiliates, and four major libraries.
